Sal Frelick couldn’t believe his stunning double play against Dodgers

This double play, started by Sal Frelick, is without a doubt the wildest moment of the 2025 MLB playoffs. And even Frelik couldn't believe what just happened after he fell!

On Monday Milwaukee Brewers And Los Angeles Dodgers met in the first game of the NLCS, and the winner of the best-of-seven series went to the World Series. In the top of the fourth inning, the Dodgers threatened the first score of the game as Los Angeles' bases were loaded with one out and Max Muncy was at the plate. As a result, Muncy put the ball in play, but even he probably could not have foreseen the outcome of this event.

With the score 1-0, Muncy drove pitcher Quinn Priester deep to center field for what could have been a grand slam. Frelick, however, was able to jump and catch the ball in his glove before it flew out and hit the wall. The Brewers' center fielder brought the ball back into the air with an incredibly deft maneuver and then threw it to shortstop Joey Ortiz for a home run. Ortiz's throw was successful as the ball hit Teoscar Hernandez on base and struck out the ball.

But the chaos didn't end there! Frelick's catch was not an out, as he caught the ball off the wall, so the home force out was the first out of the double play. The second came when catcher William Contreras moved the ball to third and broke out amid chaos on the Dodgers' base paths.

Wow! Here's how it all happened.

Talk about a crazy series of events. It took people a while to realize that the double play led to an out at home and then to third, but eventually after a replay both outs were called and the inning was over.

Perhaps the best part of this episode was seeing Frelick look completely dazed in the outfield after all the chaos.

What an absolute pleasure the play is.
