What will the Preds do before the trade deadline?
Three names in particular are being talked about in Nashville right now: Ryan O'Reilly, Steven Stamkos… and Jonathan Marchessault.
Given the club's current woes, we can actually expect one or two (or three?) of these guys to leave via trade in the near future. The Preds desperately need to rebuild the team… and all three veterans have some value on the trade market.
However, it's now official: Stamkos and Marchessault are ready to leave Nashville, according to David Pagnotta.(DFO Rundown Podcast).
Both righties arrived at the same time… and they never acclimatized well to their new team. Bringing them to the city turned out to be a not very successful mission for Barry Trotz…

Surely there will be clubs interested in their services.
The only deal? The Preds will likely have to withhold salary to trade Stamkos…and I expect the same with Marchessault.
Stammer makes $8 million per season through the end of the 27-28 season, while Marchessault earns an annual salary of $5.5 million. His contract expires in the summer of 2029…
Is Tristan Jarry a target for the Oilers?
Yesterday I posted a piece asking the question: What if Jordan Binnington was a logical target for the Oilers?
At the end of the day, we really need to solve Edmonton's goaltending problem. But perhaps a guy like Tristan Jarry, who is as experienced as Binnington, could also be of interest to the Oilers…
At least that's what Chris Johnston seemed to be saying in a recent Early Trading segment (TSN):
Chris Johnston on early trades, discussing Oilers goaltending options: “In the last 24 hours, there's been a report here about their possible interest in Tristan Jarry, a goalie with ties to Edmonton who has had a good season in Pittsburgh.”

On paper this makes sense.
Tristan Jarry played 301 games in the NHL and performed well. We're not talking about one of the best goalies on Bettman's team… but we're talking about a guy who has proven he can make big saves.
His .910 save percentage and 2.74 career goals-against average are two great examples…
Several guys are available in Toronto.
Things haven't gone to plan in Toronto since the start of the season.
Not really.
And that's why there seem to be a lot of players in the Queen City. From the entire party? David Pagnotta(Morning hockey cup) talked about Max Domi and Brandon Carlo, two guys who could help any NHL club.

Ultimately, these two goals could prove intriguing for the House.
Both guys can play a physical game, have a dog in them, are capable of being aggressive and can be tough when needed. The Canadiens need guys like that on the roster right now… and I wonder if a deal between the Leafs and Habs will be possible at some point.
Even if we know that both clubs play in the same division…
