Roslovic caps Oilers’ late comeback with OT winner against Blue Jackets – Brandon Sun

EDMONTON — Jack Roslovic scored from left 56 seconds into overtime as the Edmonton Oilers bounced back from Saturday's embarrassing 9-1 loss to the Colorado Avalanche with a commanding 5-4 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday.

Jake Wallman, who also scored two goals in the game, fed Roslovic with a long pass for his fourth goal of the season on a breakaway.

Connor McDavid also scored a pair of goals for the Oilers (7-6-4), who snapped a three-game losing skid.

Ivan Provorov, Sean Monahan, Boone Jenner and Adam Fantilli answered for the Blue Jackets (7-7-1), who have now lost four straight.

Stuart Skinner had 15 shots on goal to lead the Oilers to the win, while Jet Greaves had 19 shots on goal for the Blue Jackets.

Blue Jackets: Playing in his 146th career regular-season game, Fantilli had an assist on the visitors' first goal and scored 90 points, becoming the fourth Blue Jackets player to reach that milestone in fewer than 150 games since his franchise debut. Pierre-Luc Dubois (128 GP), Nikolay Zherdev (131) and Rick Nash (141) also achieved the feat for Columbus.

Oilers: Forward Mattias Janmark returned from a preseason injury to make his season debut, but Ryan Nugent-Hopkins will miss about a week with an undisclosed injury. Edmonton is hoping former 54-goal scorer Zach Hyman will return from an injury suffered in last year's playoffs for the upcoming trip.

KEY POINT

Edmonton tied the game with a fluke shorthanded goal with 58 seconds left in the third period when Wohlman attempted a pass but the ball deflected off the stick of Mathieu Olivier and into the net for the second stage of the game and the third of Wohlman's campaign.

Edmonton's woes at five-on-five have been a big factor in their struggles this season. Coming into the game, they were ranked 27th in goals against at five-on-five, 30th in goals against, 28th in save percentage and 31st in save percentage.
