Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle Singer Reiner were found dead in their Los Angeles home on December 14, both suffered stab wounds. Their youngest son, Nick Rayner, was born on Tuesday, December 16th. charged on two counts of first-degree murder.
Rob and Michelle have three children: sons Jake, 34, and Nick, 32, and a daughter named Romy, who turns 28 this month. It was originally reported that Romy found the bodies of both her parents inside the house, and now we have a few more updates on how the tragic discovery supposedly ended.
This was reported by the New York Times. that authorities were called around 3:40 pm on Sunday when Romy went to her parents' house to check on them after she was contacted by a massage therapist who was unable to gain access to the house. When Romy arrived, she allegedly discovered her father's body and “escaped”, not knowing that Michel was also dead inside the house.
A source close to the family told the Times that Romy learned of her mother's death when she was later told by a paramedic.
Nick was apparently not home when his parents' bodies were discovered. In the new press releaseThe Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office suggested that Rob and Michelle were killed “in or around the early morning hours” of December 14, and that Nick then “fled” from the scene.
The 32-year-old man was found it later that evening at Exposition Park, near the University of Southern California campus, where he was arrested. Nick is currently being held without bail. as reported celebrity lawyer interests Alan Jacksonwho is perhaps best known for previously representing Harvey Weinstein. If convicted, Nick could be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole or the death penalty.
