Rogers introduces new cruise ship roaming add-on

Rogers has added a new addition to its Roam Like Home pass and now covers cruise ships.

New option listed for both Rogers And Fido as it goes “USA, Mexico & Caribbean + Cruises – 7 Days” and costs $100 (the price is the same no matter which carrier you travel with), according to the listing, or approximately $14.28 per day. Interestingly, Rogers notes on its website that data is limited to 1GB per 24 hours and that speeds will be reduced after 1GB is used in a day.

As mentioned in the name, the pass is limited to destinations in the United States and the Caribbean. According to TravelPulse, The US is one of the most popular departure points for cruises, and the Caribbean is one of the most popular cruise destinations, with Caribbean cruises attracting approximately 2.8 million searches between April 2023 and March 2024. (Keep in mind, this is when Canada-U.S. relations were not in a constant state of question.)

It should be noted that US destinations also include Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.

The new version also updates the Daily Roaming option, which now gets the same cruise ship and data caps as the US, Mexico and Caribbean + Cruises option. The Daily Roaming option costs $18 per day.

Interestingly, this option increases the number of destinations (now including Europe and Asia) to which a package can be sent. However, compared to the cruise plan, it excludes the United States and its territories.

Both options can be viewed on the Roam Like Home Travel Pass webpage. If you want to view your options while you're on a cruise ship, there's a new tab labeled “Land and Sea” that will help you filter your options while you're at sea.
