Roblox is exploring changes it could make to return to Russia after the ban.
Reuters reports this. – via the Interfax news agency – Russian media watchdog Roskomnadzor reported that the American gaming platform had reached out to us and said it was willing to comply with local laws.
Roskomnadzor added that Roblox promised to “remove destructive and dangerous information and prevent criminal activities and user communications on the platform.”
The watchdog added that if there was a “genuine willingness” to “change its approach to keeping children safe online” it would be willing to work with Roblox.
The gaming platform confirmed the news, saying it was prepared to “temporarily limit communication capabilities in Russia and review our content moderation processes to meet the legal requirements necessary to restore our community's access to the platform.”
It is not yet known when Roblox will return to the country. Roskomnadzor blocked Roblox in Russia in early December due to concerns that the platform is being used to spread propaganda as well as justify “extremist and terrorist activities.” The agency also said Roblox provided information related to “LGBTQ issues.”
