Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sues Roblox producer Roblox Corp for allegedly a platformer for pedophiles. The move means the American video game company is being sued by the state of Texas.

In a press release published on XPaxton said Roblox Corp put the interests of “pixel pedophiles and profits above the safety of Texas children.”

“We cannot allow platforms like Roblox to continue to operate as digital playgrounds for predators, where the well-being of our children is sacrificed at the altar of corporate greed,” he added.

Paxton said Roblox Corp is ignoring state and federal internet safety laws by “deceiving” parents about the dangers of its platform. He said Roblox bills itself as a “safe digital space for creativity”, but in reality has become a “breeding ground” for predators.

Paxton said that as a result, children in Texas were “repeatedly exposed to sexually explicit content, exploitation and grooming.”

Roblox Corp, which is facing a number of lawsuits and allegations related to child safety issues on its platform, told the BBC The lawsuit is based on “false information and sensational claims” and claims that he shares Paxton's commitment to keeping children safe online.

Roblox had over 151 million daily active users (DAU) as of September 30, 2025. This included a peak of over 45 million concurrent users.

“And we have raised the minimum age for restricted content to the global standard of 18. I want to emphasize that we have stricter than typical industry policies regarding Roblox. We believe this is an important strategic investment in how we run the company.”
