Rick Springfield wouldn't recommend flying to Jessie's Girl or anyone else during the government shutdown… but he doesn't know how else to get from point A to point B.
We caught up with the singer-songwriter in New York City on Wednesday afternoon…and asked him how air traffic controllers' lack of pay has affected his views on flying these days—a follow-up to a conversation Rick and I had in February, when he told us he wasn't worried about the plane's recent problems.

These days, Spingfield calls it “Russian roulette” in the sky… but, he adds, there aren't many other good alternatives – you can't walk cross-country!
As you know…the government shutdown has disrupted the payroll of many federal employees, including many of the air traffic controllers who normally monitor the air to keep the skies safe.

Representative Jasmine Crockett discussed the possibility of mid-air accidents… although she mostly blamed Republicans for any problems that might arise from the shutdown.
Bottom line… these problems aren't going to end anytime soon – but Rick shrugs and asks, what can you really do?
