RFK Jr. Needs to ‘Unconditionally’ Advocate for Measles Vaccine, Lack of Vaccination Causing Deaths, Outbreak

On Monday, former Assistant Secretary of Health Adm. Brett Giroir said on NewsNation's “The Hill” that this year's measles outbreak and deaths “are the result of a lack of vaccination.” And “the Trump administration, and Secretary Kennedy in particular, should unequivocally advocate for measles vaccination for everyone for whom it is appropriate.”

Girouard said the United States is currently facing “by far the most serious disease, measles.” [outbreak] We’ve had this for decades.” “The cases we are seeing and the three deaths this year are the result of a lack of vaccination. So, we can talk about other vaccines and other situations, but if we don't want dozens of children dying from measles next year, it's very important that parents talk to their doctor and health care provider and get their children vaccinated.”

He added that “it is terrible and shameful that our country, the technological leader of the world, will lose its measles elimination status when it is completely preventable. It is truly disgraceful.”

Giroir concluded: “I would say that the Trump administration, and Secretary Kennedy in particular, should unequivocally advocate for measles vaccination for everyone for whom it is appropriate. The measles vaccine does not cause the death and suffering that measles does. It is a very safe and very effective vaccine.”
