Resident Evil Requiem leak points to a second playable character, and it isn’t Leon

The listing for the Deluxe Edition of Resident Evil Requiem may have revealed more than Capcom realised, with the offer of a surprise playable character.

Since its announcement, players have been speculating that Leon Kennedy will appear when Requiem debuts next year, but GameStop inadvertently added another series name to the list of possible playable characters. Please note potential Resident Evil Requiem spoilers below.

As seen on a social media account DuskGolemthe GameStop Deluxe Edition Resident Evil Requiem store page once featured exclusive content for none other than Rosemary Winters. She is the daughter of Ethan, the main character of Resident Evil 7 and 8. And although her mention has now been removed from the site, the Internet remembers.

As you can see in the image below, the Deluxe Edition originally promised users a Shadow Walker costume pack that would include three outfits for Rosemary.

The same listing also mentions two additional story scenarios, as well as a “major” update to the Mercenaries mode and a “Morphic Visor” cosmetic filter for “Rose's Taker” (oddly, it didn't say “Rosemary”).

The wording has since been changed and List of GameStop for Resident Evil Requiem Deluxe Edition now sounds like this:

The Deluxe Kit includes the following contents:

  • Five costumes, including Grace's costume: Dimitrescu.
  • Two filters, including “Filter: Apocalypse”.
  • Four weapon skins, including the S&S M232: Apocalypse weapon skin.
  • Two mascots including Charm: Mr. Raccoon.
  • Audio Pack: Raccoon City Classics
  • Files: Letters from 1998.

We last saw Rosemary Winters in Resident Evil 8DLC “Shadows of Rose” where she appeared as a teenager with supernatural powersAccording to director Kento Kinoshita, in 2022 Capcom was “creating the story of Shadows of Rose to conclude the Winters family saga.”. So, has the studio called our bluff?
