As trade chatter heats up around the association, the Golden State Warriors seem to be a team that is constantly mentioned in various trade rumors. NBA insider Chris Haynes of NBA on Prime recently reported that the Warriors are targeting sports centers in potential deals.
On Friday, Haynes expanded on his recent report by adding another All-Star caliber name to the list of potential trade targets for the Warriors. According to Haynes, the Warriors are considering making a case for Dallas Mavericks center Anthony Davis. Haynes added that the Mavericks aren't “that enamored” with what the Warriors could offer for Davis. According to Haynes, the Warriors will either have to acquire more assets or bring in a third team to secure a package for Davis.

Davis played 16 games for the Mavericks this season, averaging 20.5 points on 52.1 percent shooting from the field, 10.9 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 29.9 minutes per game.
Davis was the centerpiece of last year's legendary trade that brought Luka Doncic to Los Angeles Lakers. Davis has played just 27 games for the Mavericks since being traded from Los Angeles. Davis suffered an adductor strain injury that forced him to miss 18 games for the Mavericks last season. Davis has missed 14 games this season with a calf strain and could miss more time with a groin injury he suffered against the Warriors on Christmas Day. Davis was left out of the Christmas Day halftime game at Chase Center after suffering an injury in the second quarter.

The Warriors will have to get creative financially if they pursue Davis. The 32-year-old big man is scheduled to make $54 million this season and $58 million next season, plus a $62 million player option for the 2027-28 season.
Davis would instantly bolster Golden State's frontcourt and give the Warriors another star-caliber player alongside Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler. Davis is a 10-time NBA All-Star, a five-time All-NBA member and a five-time member of the NBA All-Defensive Team.
The NBA Trade deadline is set for February 5, 2026 at 3:00 pm ET.
