Jaire Alexander's NFL journey may be coming to an end.
The veteran cornerback has reportedly informed the Philadelphia Eagles that he is leaving the team, according to a report from The Athletic. Dianna Russini on Tuesday.
According to Russini, Alexander is leaving to focus on regaining his physical and mental health as he considers retiring from his career.
The 28-year-old is in his eighth season in the NFL, and unfortunately for the former two-time Pro Bowler, it's another injury-riddled campaign.
Alexander came into this season after back-to-back years playing just seven games after his 2024 campaign was cut short by a knee injury. He was released over the summer by the Green Bay Packers — the team that drafted the CB 18th overall in 2018 — before signing with the Baltimore Ravens.
The Louisville product played just two games for the Ravens while continuing to recover from a knee injury before being traded to the Eagles at the NFL trade deadline.
After the move, he still has to suit up for Philadelphia.
In 80 career games, Alexander has 12 interceptions, three forced fumbles, 1.5 sacks and 12 tackles for loss.
The Eagles (7-2) return to action Sunday to face the NFC division leader Detroit Lions (6-3).
