Call it magic or manifestation, but either way, Renee Rapp is a master of mind games in his latest single “Lucky.” The record will be included on the soundtrack to the original film. Now you see me, now you don'tin theaters November 14.
“I drive fast, baby, I drive hard/But I don't leave a scratch when I crash the car/Stepping on the stars on the boulevard/I think it's funny, I'm so la-la-lucky,” Rapp sings on the chorus before disappearing into the movie world on a bridge. “Okay, I made it/I'm almost like Renee/Oh no, where did I go?/Now you see me, now you don't.”
“Lucky” will be shown in cinemas at the end Now you see me, now you don'tthe long-awaited third part Now you see me a franchise that began in 2013 and last returned in 2016.
The single followed the release of Rapp's second studio album. Bite mewhich arrived in August. “I love it so much. I worked so hard on it and I had so much fun doing it that I think the hardest thing is not shooting myself in the foot because I'm so anxious about it,” the singer said. Rolling Stone earlier this year. “I feel like I've been making music from places that really scared me, not for it to sound like it's so select. So putting it out into the world and not knowing if it's going to be received the way I feel is scary.”
In the post review Rolling Stone wrote: “She's wasting her second album, Bite meenjoying how loud and proud she is during one of the most delicious pop performances of the year, a rowdy 33-minute celebration of sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll.”
