Cincinnati Reds On November 5, they announced that they had declined contract options for relievers Scott Barlow and Brent Suter, as well as outfielder Austin Hayes.
Declining their club options made Barlow, Sather and Hayes free agents. Ten members of the Reds' 2025 playoff team are now free agents. The list also includes Nick Martinez, Emilio Pagan, Ian Gibeau, Wade Miley, Santiago Espinal, Miguel Andujar and Zach Littell.
Barlow, 32, was the workhorse of a bullpen in 2025 that went 6-3 with a 4.71 ERA. He appeared in 75 games and threw 68 and 1/3 innings.
Suter, Reds player for two seasons and a product of Moeller High School, went 1-2 with a 4.52 ERA in 48 games. The 35-year-old's long-term role combined with three starts allowed him to pitch 67 and 2/3 innings.
Hayes, 29, battled several injuries in 2025 but still played in 103 games and was a key part of Cincinnati's team. Hayes hit .266 with a .768 OPS while hitting 15 home runs and driving in 64 RBIs.
