While the world waits GTA VI a little longerRockstar Games is about to release its 2010 hit Western. Red Dead Redemption on compatible phones.
The game will release on December 2 with “mobile-friendly control options” and will be free to play with a Netflix subscription. The press release seems to suggest that it will also be available for purchase, but the wording is a little unclear. When I search for a game on my phone, only the Netflix version comes up. However, if you look at Rockstar's developer profile, all other games are sold there, so I would expect that Red Dead will receive a similar double release. Currently, GTA: San Andreas: Definitive Edition costs $26.99, so perhaps John Marston's ride would cost the same.
All updated versions of the game include all the content from the Game of the Year Edition, plus Undead Nightmare Zombie DLC expansion.
In addition to mobile ports, updates will be released for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Switch 2 to improve the game's appearance and performance on these systems. You can even use mouse controls on Switch 2. If you already own the game on PS4, Switch 1, or the backwards compatible version on Xbox, you'll get all the new improvements for free. PlayStation and Switch gamers will be able to transfer their saves from older consoles to newer hardware, but Xbox players are out of luck and will have to start all over again.
PlayStation Plus or GTA+ subscribers will also be able to access the game through their subscription.
Leading up to this release, there were rumors about Red Dead Redemption 2 an update for current-gen consoles and a release on Switch 2, but it's possible these leaks were actually about that game.
