Razer Raiju V3 Pro review
The competitive controller market is becoming crowded. VictrixSony and Xbox (to name a few) provide high-end controllers with all the bells and whistles you could ever want. Razer isn't far behind either. They are strong players when it comes to high-end gamepads. Raiju V3 Pro is the latest premium esports controller from Razer, designed specifically for PlayStation 5. Created with input from professional gamers and licensed for PS5, this controller is designed for competitive gamers who demand the best. While it has a hefty price tag and a few notable omissions, its specs and build quality make it a great option for people looking to up their game with a controller.
One of the first things you'll notice about the Raiju V3 Pro is how lightweight it is. This makes my Xbox Elite controller feel like a tank. This thing is incredibly light and feels good in your hands. Despite its advanced components and customization capabilities, the controller maintains a surprisingly lightweight form factor. This makes it ideal for long gaming sessions. The balance between build quality and portability is impressive.
You also get a premium case in the box. First impressions were already high: the controller looks and feels great, and the case only enhances its tournament-ready design. Whether you're heading to an eSports event, a LAN party, or just want to conveniently store your gear, the case provides an extra layer of convenience and protection.
The Raiju V3 Pro's symmetrical TMR (Tension Magnetic Resistance) joysticks are one of its standout features. These poles not only provide excellent feel, but also provide precise control and drift protection. They are ideal for shooters, fighting games and action films. The tension is constant and smooth, and subtle movements translate into precise play actions.
This precision is further enhanced by interchangeable joystick caps. This allows people to customize the feel and grip to suit their preferences. Of course, this is pretty standard for a professional controller, but it's interesting how the TMR technology also contributes to the controller's excellent battery life. It consumes less energy. I don't have a way to test this, but needless to say the battery life is pretty good. You get about 25-30 hours on a single charge.
Personalization is at the heart of the Raiju V3 Pro. It features four removable rear buttons and two claw bumpers, all of which are fully re-mappable. My fat fingers often accidentally press the back buttons, so being able to remove them is a must-have feature on a professional controller.
Clicking click
The buttons use the ultra-sensitive switches typically found in Razer gaming mice, providing fast clicks and pleasant tactile feedback. Whether you prefer a traditional grip or a claw grip, the layout is designed to support both styles. The ability to remove and move these buttons adds another level of personalization. Bottom line: The button layout suits any gaming style.
Another standout feature is the Razer Pro HyperTriggers, which allows players to switch between quick mouse clicks and full analog trigger control. Using Razer Synapse 4, you can fine-tune trigger points to suit different genres. This means lightning-fast reactions in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 or complete precision in racing games like F1 25.
The face buttons and 8-way floating D-pad feel solid. They are made from Doubleshot PBT materials, so it is specifically designed. These tactile buttons provide clear feedback and fast response times. Every press feels intentional. It certainly clicks, but not too much to distract you. Unlike cheaper materials that can become shiny or soft over time, the buttons retain their texture and functionality even after extended periods of play.
Wireless performance is another area where the Raiju V3 Pro excels. Equipped with Razer HyperSpeed Wireless technology, the controller delivers lightning-fast, lag-free connections when paired with PS5. The controller also comes with a detachable 2m USB Type-C cable for wired play if you prefer to play that way.
Almost all bells
Despite its many strengths, the Raiju V3 Pro is not without its shortcomings. In particular, it lacks rumble and haptic feedback due to the PlayStation's crappy licensing restrictions. For gamers who value immersive tactile experiences, this omission is important. The lack of these features simply means that some games may seem less interesting, especially those that rely heavily on haptic cues. This isn't a deal breaker and probably saves some battery life. However, this absence is a disappointment considering the premium price.

Speaking of price, the Raiju V3 Pro is certainly pricey (it's currently priced at C$279.99 on Razer's website). It's at the high end of the market, which will turn off casual gamers or those who don't need all the advanced features. However, for gamers who are serious about their performance and want a controller with deep customization, the investment may be worth it. This price is just a hard pill to swallow.
The Raiju V3 Pro also supports extensive customization via the Razer mobile app and Synapse 4 software. Players can adjust joystick sensitivity, remap buttons, and save up to four built-in profiles. This means you can switch between settings for different games or playstyles without having to readjust every time.
The Razer Raiju V3 Pro is a lightweight, feature-rich controller designed for professional PS5 gamers. Its TMR joysticks, triggers, and removable rear buttons provide a level of precision that few other controllers can match. The build quality is excellent, and the included carrying case adds portability. While the lack of rumble and tactility is a noticeable drawback and the price is a kick in the teeth, the Raiju V3 Pro delivers what matters: speed, control and adaptability.
