Calgary, Alberta, November 9, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Radiant Ridge Energy Ltd. (“RRE”) a leading energy infrastructure developer, today announced a strategic partnership with Nordcon Canada Inc. (“Nordcon”), a natural gas producer, to deploy a 3 MW hydrocooled modular data center powered by Nordcon's own natural gas production.
This collaboration represents an important milestone in the integration of energy production with high-performance computing infrastructure. The partnership combines Nordcon's natural gas production capabilities with RRE's data center and energy infrastructure expertise to provide an innovative, vertically integrated solution for energy-intensive applications.
Converting trapped gas into computing power
Under the agreement, RRE will deploy and operate hydrocooled modular data centers at Nordcon natural gas production sites, using Nordcon gas to generate electricity on site. This approach turns local natural gas into valuable computing power, creating new energy revenue streams.
“This partnership is an example of the innovative solutions that are possible when energy generation is combined with digital infrastructure,” said Bruce Xu, managing director of RRE. “By locating our modular data centers at Nordcon's facilities, we gain access to reliable, cost-effective natural gas while helping Nordcon monetize gas production in new ways. It's a vertical integration that creates value for both parties and demonstrates our commitment to efficient, practical energy solutions.”
Strategic Benefits of Partnership
Collaboration provides several key benefits:
- Direct access to fuel: Co-location at production sites eliminates transportation costs and ensures uninterrupted gas supplies for power generation.
- Monetization of resources: Turns Nordcon's natural gas production into computer infrastructure revenue, diversifying their business model.
- Operational efficiency: On-site generation minimizes transmission losses and infrastructure overhead.
- Scalable model: Modular data center approach allows for rapid deployment and replication at additional Nordcon sites.
“RRE's experience in managing complex energy infrastructure and data center operations makes them an ideal partner for this innovative approach,” said Harry Mikhaychuk, President of Nordcon Canada Inc. “Rather than simply selling gas to commodity markets, we are involved in the value chain all the way down to computer services. This partnership opens up entirely new revenue opportunities for our production assets.”
Future Growth Fund
The 3MW capacity deployment represents the first phase of what both companies see as a long-term strategic relationship. As Nordcon expands its manufacturing operations and RRE scales its data center portfolio, the partnership model could be replicated at multiple sites across Western Canada.
