Jashanpreet Singh, a 21-year-old illegal alien from India, is in the custody of the San Bernardino County (California) Sheriff's Department on suspicion of driving while intoxicated causing great bodily harm and gross vehicular homicide while intoxicated.
The arrest stems from a horrific crash on a Southern California freeway on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. The semi-vehicle driven by Singh went into slow-moving traffic near the intersection of I-10 and I-15 near Ontario, California, causing a crash that killed three people and injured four people, two of them seriously.
As seen in dash cam footage taken from Singh's truck, he plowed into stopped traffic on the freeway without making any effort to avoid other vehicles or slow down in any way.

Singh was reportedly caught and released during the Biden administration.

According to multiple ICE sources, Jashanpreet Singh, the semi-trailer driver suspected of killing three people in a drunk driving crash on Interstate 10 in Ontario, California yesterday, is an Indian illegal immigrant who was caught and released at the California border by the Biden administrator in March 2022. I'm informed that ICE is requesting that Singh be detained by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, where he is being held on suspicion of DUI causing great bodily injury and vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. He has not yet been formally charged.
Police say Singh was speeding and intoxicated and failed to brake when he crashed into slow-moving traffic on the freeway, setting off a devastating and deadly chain reaction that killed three people. The victims have not yet been identified.
The question of how an illegal alien got a driver's license, let alone the CDL (commercial driver's license) needed to drive a semi-trailer, has a two-word answer: Gov. Gavin Newsom.
Newsom signed the legislation into law in September 2022. California Assembly Bill of 1766which expanded an existing state law that does not require California residents to provide proof of legal residence to obtain a driver's license. AB 1766 expanded this rule to include obtaining a government ID without a REAL ID.
A REAL ID is required for all CDL drivers if they wish to enter a federal facility when picking up or delivering cargo. However, under Newsom, California has shown no restraint in issuing CDLs to illegal aliens, regardless of cost, as documented here by RedState's Ward Clark and Becky Noble.
