Qualcomm boosts affordable phones with new Snapdragon Chip

Qualcomm has given a major boost to budget and mid-range devices with the official launch of the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, the first 6-series chip built on the 4nm process.

The new platform aims to provide more affordable devices with the same features typically found in higher-end devices. It offers users faster performance, better games, and improved camera capabilities without being too expensive.

Android Center notes that the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 is a significant upgrade over 6 generation 1largely thanks to the 4nm architecture. Qualcomm says this new architecture delivers greater efficiency and performance. product review revealing that the new Kryo processor is 26 percent faster and the Adreno GPU improves graphics by 59 percent.

As Qualcomm's product review notes, this will result in smoother multitasking, faster app loading, better camera support, and even better connectivity. Talking about the camera I mentioned earlier, the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 supports up to 200MP photo shooting as well as 2K video recording with the help of triple image signal processors (ISPs). Android Center describes how “more versatile shooting settings.” Gen 6 also features hardware-accelerated multi-frame noise reduction, allowing you to take more detailed photos in low light.

Speaking of smoother connectivity, Qualcomm also notes that the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 features a built-in RF 5G Modem that delivers download speeds of up to 2.9Gbps ​​and supports both sub-6GHz and millimeter wave frequencies. The new chip also supports Release 16 5G, WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4.

Qualcomm hasn't confirmed which devices will get the new Snapdragon chip, but brands like Xiaomi and Motorola are expected to adopt it soon.
