How do you continue creating a game that essentially popularized an entirely new genre? I can only imagine that this is a question that Brendan Greene, aka Player Unknown, i.e. the creator of PUBG, has asked himself several times. The answer to this question Prologue: Go backa game that has been in development for some time and is finally out in Early Access.
This date is also just around the corner: November 20th! And with that release date comes a new trailer showing off some of the new features you can expect in the Early Access release. While the main game mode has you traveling through a randomly generated wilderness area towards a weather tower, there will be a free roam mode available that will allow you to wander around the area at a much more leisurely pace. In this mode, the only thing that can kill you is fall damage, so as long as you watch your feet, you'll be fine.
The early access version will also include many customization features. They can also be very small, such as the number of cabins created, the strength of the air flow and the like. You can also control the weather, allowing for blizzards, acid rain, thunderstorms, and you can control whether it will always be day or night if you want.
For those of you who like to get creative, you might be interested in the game's map editor. Based on the trailer, this movie doesn't look that big, but there may be something bigger going on behind the scenes. Or, if you like to play on the maps that the game itself generates, you can also share the source codes for those maps with others so they can try them out.
If you're wondering what the game is like in action, Edwin went dealt with this earlier this yearand even talked about it with Green.
