Programmation du Festival d’été de Québec: une affiche presque prête… mais pas d’annonce avant 2026

Unlike Coachella and other international festivals, which have announced their lineup much earlier than usual, the Festival d'été de Québec will wait until 2026 to unveil the stars that will perform on the Plains of Abraham next July.

“We are comfortable with our schedules over the past few years, so we will not be releasing the film in 2025,” announces director of programming Louis Bellavance.

Last year, FEQ reported that Benson Boone, Shania Twain and Hozier would be among the headliners on Feb. 26. All indications are that we will still be clearing snow when the big names of 2026 are announced.

“We definitely won't be later than usual. We'll be a little faster or on the same dates,” Mr Bellavance says.

“Very advanced”

If he makes such a prediction, it is because the creation of the FEQ 2026 poster, which will take place from July 9 to 19, is already “very advanced,” the programmer claims.

“We could finish it next month, but we're not putting pressure on ourselves. This is the first time we're not in an emergency situation and can take a step back. We can give ourselves two or three weeks to see if more interesting opportunities arise.”

It is obvious that Louis Bellavance is trying not to reveal any secrets. When asked about the proliferation of musical styles in the Plains of Abraham, he did suggest that the recipe in 2026 will be “a little different.”

“You have the same ingredients, but not in the same proportions. There will be more mushrooms, less pepper, but it's still a whole pizza,” he says.

So, more or less rock, country, Latin, hip-hop, French, pop? To get all the answers you will have to wait until the program opens.
