Prime Video The cast of the upcoming animated series for adults has been announced Kevin, written and executive producer Aubrey Plazawho will also play the lead role, and Joe Wengert. Jason Schwartzman (Isle of Dogs), Plaza (White Lotus), Whoopi Goldberg (The Lion King), John Waters (hairspray), Aparna Nancherla (Great North), Gil Ozeri (Big mouth) And Amy Sedaris (Bojack Horse) were regular participants in the animated comedy.
According to the logline, inspired by a real-life breakup and a cat caught in the middle: Kevin is a funny and touching story about finding your place in the world. After an unexpected breakup with his human “owners,” Kevin moves to a local animal shelter in Astoria, Queens, where a chaotic group of misfit animals will help him figure out what he really wants out of life.
Schwartzman voices Kevin, a sweet and neurotic tuxedo cat who impulsively trades his sheltered life in a fourth-floor elevator for the excitement and terror of being “alone” in the big city.
Plaza is Dana, a confident and career-oriented young woman. Dana makes the mature decision to end her boyfriend… but is blindsided by Kevin's decision to leave the house and live on his own.
Nancherla voices Judy, a sweet but sickly Scottish Fold kitten who welcomes Kevin to her local pet rescue with positivity and an unwavering belief that the perfect human is just around the corner.
Waters is Armando, a gorgeous, sarcastic and serious Persian cat who has renounced all humans for the freedom he gets from living as an “independent” cat.
Goldberg voices Cupcake, a wildly unpredictable hairless cat. Cupcake is proudly wild: she squats at a pet rescue center only as long as it gives her the opportunity to deceive both people and animals.
Ozeri plays Seth, a kind and caring man who runs the Friends of Ferrever pet rescue. He loves his animal inhabitants so much that he allows them to walk on him… all the time.
Sedaris voices Brandy, Seth's feisty and intimidating little Shih Tzu. Even though she's a dog, it's clear that Brandi is truly in charge of the rescue.
Kevin Created and executive produced by Plaza and Joe Wengert, the latter also serving as showrunner. Dan Murphy, Chris Prynoski, Ben Kalina, Shannon Prynoski and Antonio Canobbio also serve as executive producers. The series is produced by Titmouse, Evil Hag Productions and Amazon MGM Studios.
