Predator: Badlands stars Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi as Dec and Elle Fanning as twin sisters Tia and Tessa. Tia is a synthetic from the Weyland-Yutani corporation who lost her legs in battle. She defies her programming and teams up with Dec, who builds a backpack-style wheelchair to carry her throughout the hunt. This unique setup leads to some inventive action sequences. Meanwhile, Tessa is the main antagonist in Badlands. Fanning does a great job playing both characters, and Koloamatanga's performance as the new Predator is superb.
Predator: Badlands takes place more than 300 years in the future, which takes it far beyond the previous Predator or Alien films. You can certainly enjoy it without any prior experience with any series. However, as is usually the case with standalone sequels, existing fans will pick up on the references and Easter eggs. Both of Elle Fanning's humanoid characters, for example, were created by the villainous corporation in the Alien series.
