Poulin, Stacey lead the way as Victoire close PWHL pre-season with 3-2 win over Fleet – Brandon Sun

MONTREAL — Marie-Philip Poulin and Laura Stacey each had a goal and an assist as the Montreal Victoire wrapped up their PWHL pre-season with a 3-2 win over Boston Fleet on Monday.

Claire Vekic also scored for Montreal, which beat Boston 3-2 in overtime on Saturday in their first preseason game at Verdun Auditorium.

Anne-Renee Debien made 21 saves over two periods of play, and Sandra Abstriter stopped seven of the eight shots she faced in relief.

Hannah Brandt opened the scoring at 2:21 of the second period and Riley Brengman gave Montreal a 3-1 lead with 47 seconds left for Boston. Amanda Thiele made 25 saves.

Montreal went 1-for-6 on the power play thanks to Stacy's goal, while Boston went 0-for-3.

Victoire visits Fleet for the regular season opener for both teams on Sunday.
