Police in London, Ont., say a 34-year-old woman is facing multiple charges after she allegedly struck a conference building with a hammer as part of a protest on Tuesday.
They claim the Owen Sound, Ont., woman used a hammer to pick the building's electronic locks and that she fled from police into a crowd of protesters before being arrested.
A group of pro-Palestinian protesters gathered outside the Best Defense Conference at RBC Place in central London, where they blocked entrances to the building and demanded that Canada immediately impose a bilateral arms embargo on Israel.
London police say protesters also barricaded the garage with construction materials and threw paint on conference staff.
According to them, the damage to the conference building is estimated at approximately $32,000.
The woman arrested is charged with mischief over $5,000, conspiracy to commit a felony, resisting arrest and concealment.
