Pokémon Go's new leveling journey will finally begin on October 15, expanding the trainer level cap to 80 and turning progression into something much more rewarding. The system was first teased back in Augustbut now Niantic is ready to introduce it with a new structure, new cosmetic rewards and even a daily surprise.
If you've ever felt stuck staring at a level 50 ceiling, this is for you. Leveling up will be a little less brutal thanks to a complete rebalancing of experience requirements, meaning you'll level up more often. Anyone who has reached level 23 or above will automatically gain at least one level when the update goes live, which will be a nice little incentive for your next gym visit.
Walls from levels 41 to 50 are also being demolished. Niantic has done away with the old exploratory leveling challenges that used to slow down the game, instead focusing on smoother, more organic progression. It's less about ticking boxes and more about feeling like your growth is happening naturally as you play.
That's really starting to change with the new Daily Adventure Egg. Once you reach level 15, leveling up becomes easier with the free Daily Adventure Egg. All you have to do is walk one kilometer and then the 10,000 XP inside will be yours. This is enough for a short break between work when you want to stretch your legs.
A few levels later, things get more personal. Cosmetics return with Poké Ball-themed jackets, caps, and shoes that unlock a starting level of 25. The further you go, the more you'll unlock, including new poses and hairstyles that will give you enough to show off that you're no ordinary trainer.
