Pokeology: An Illustrated Guide to Pokemon Ecology Coming in 2026
Fabulous Pokemon The book, which focuses on the fictional ecology of pocket monsters, will be released outside Japan in 2026. This week the Pokémon Company announced that Pokecology: An Illustrated Guide to Pokemon Ecology will receive an English translation and will be released in North America courtesy of Pikachu Press and Simon and Schuster.
Pokecology: An Illustrated Guide to Pokemon Ecology was originally released in Japan this summer. It features work by author Yoshinari Yonehara and illustrator Chihiro Kinoshita—both of whom have doctorates and have studied animal behavior and ecology, according to The Pokémon Company—that offer a scientific perspective on Pokémon's environmental habits. In addition to beautiful illustrations of hundreds of Pokémon, the text explores the similarities, differences, commonalities, and relationships between Pokémon ecology, according to the publisher.
The 208-page book will arrive in North America on April 21, 2026. Pokecology: An Illustrated Guide to Pokemon Ecology is now available for pre-order for $14.99 from online retailers including Barnes and Noble, Amazon, Bookstore.org, Hudson BooksellersAnd Target. Check your local bookstore as well.
