PlayerUnknown wants to listen to your Prologue: Go Wayback feedback, just not all of it

There are two Brendan Greenes (or PlayerUnknown, whichever way you prefer to refer to the game developer). There's Brendan Greene, who wants to hear feedback from those participating in the early access period of his current game. Prologue: Go back. And then there's Brendan Greene, who doesn't do it for very reasonable reasons. Both of them still belong to him, and both appeared in a recent interview.

First, Green, who wants to hear feedback. The developer recently spoke with PC gamer about Prologue, which came out in early access under a name that Edwin doesn't seem to like as much as I do.where he explained his intention to use an Early Access release strategy. “I want to make games with the community, not for them, because that's how I got into gaming; I come from modding,” Green explained, pointing to examples such as the addition of a free run mode and a free roam mode thanks to player feedback. He notes that they are trying to “use Early Access as it was intended.”

This is a great approach, even though community feedback shouldn't always be listened to because sometimes a hard line needs to be drawn. And draw the same line from Green as in the same interview PC gamerhe explained that the second requested function in survival the game adds animals.

“But if we add animals, that means you need something to protect against animals,” Green explains. “While we can technically add animals since we've figured out how to find paths for the world, programming good AI for animals requires a lot of resources. You want them to feel real, especially in the world we're building.”

He goes on to note that achieving this goal while being happy with the results will require a lot of resources, but he would prefer to focus on “building a more cohesive world with paths, power lines, and even bigger attractions that aren't just huts.” This is what I want the team to focus on rather than adding more things for you to worry about. I think the weather is quite worrying at this stage.”

As mentioned above, I don't think listening to community feedback is something that should be treated as gospel just because a large number of people want something. Sometimes you have to stand firm! Adding animals sounds like it would fundamentally change the nature of Prologue, and besides, there's probably a similar enough survival game that lets you be hunted by a wolf or something, right? Anyway, forget all that crap I just said, Brendan, if you're reading this game name change, it's really weird.
