Join the action at “The Fall of Phobos”
Phobos Down has left Early Access and is now available in full form. FRACTiLE Games has released version 1.0.0 on Steam and Itch.io, introducing an enhanced sci-fi twin-stick shooter that focuses on clean mechanics, even pacing, and score-based progression.
In the game you will find yourself in the role of a single contractor working for a large mega-corporation. Your task will take you to an uncharted planet where you need to find the missing cargo. The surface is filled with hostile creatures, and each mission becomes a test of survival, precision and strategy. You navigate an ever-changing environment, destroy hordes of enemies and collect points that allow you to get better equipment.
Phobos Down has a simple structure that makes the action simple and straightforward. You carry three weapons with you at all times and gain upgrades as you progress. Missions are short, repetitive and unpredictable, creating a natural rhythm that encourages experimentation with different builds. In addition to these random missions, the game features weekly challenges. During these weekly events, each player faces the same mission plan, with competition centered around climbing the online leaderboards.
Several coherent ideas form an experience. The game procedurally generates each mission to ensure variety. Shooting feels slower, emphasizing movement, timing, and careful aiming. You can play through one mission at a time, pausing as needed as there are no timers. Weekly challenges keep the community competitive, and the game runs smoothly on the Steam Deck thanks to special optimizations.
Phobos Down offers a focused take on the dual-stick shooting formula. Now it's ready for players who enjoy constant action, repeatable missions and the pursuit of higher scores. You can play it on Steam or Itch.io.
