Philip RiversThe former Colts and Los Angeles Chargers defensive end, who turned 44 on Monday, will visit Indianapolis on Tuesday, according to multiple reports.

However, Leonard is reportedly dealing with a knee injury, which could leave Brett Rypien as the team's only healthy option heading into Week 15 against a tough Seattle Seahawks team on the road. Leonard is reportedly being reviewed on a weekly basis.

ESPN added thatWhile the Colts will evaluate whether Rivers is fit enough to play in the league, he is still deciding whether he wants to return to the NFL. But he's clearly thinking about it seriously before heading to Indianapolis.

Rivers last appeared in the NFL in 2020, when he started 16 games for the Colts. He was 39 years old at the time and was certainly a viable option at the position after passing for 4,169 yards with 24 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Indianapolis went 11-5 that season before losing to the Buffalo Bills in the playoffs.

Rivers eventually announced his retirement after the loss to the Bills, although rumors remained about him as someone who could return. He was open to becoming New Orleans Saints quarterback in 2021, and the San Francisco 49ers acknowledged he was their choice if they made it to Super Bowl LVII when Brock Purdy and Josh Johnson both suffered injuries during the NFC Championship Game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

But Rivers remained in Alabama, where he coached the school's football team for the past few years. However, the Colts clearly came after Sunday's disastrous performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Jones, playing with a broken fibula in the first quarter, suffered a season-ending Achilles injury and was visibly upset as he slammed his helmet onto the turf.

The Colts now find themselves in the group of AFC teams hoping to make the playoffs after losing three straight games following the bye week.
