PhasmophobiaI invite you to Nell's Diner on November 11th.
Retro Diner, announced this weekend during Phasmophobia's fifth anniversary at TwitchCon, will be the ghost-fighting game's fourteenth map, promising “surprises” for everyone who dares go there when it launches next month.
The team said they recognized that Phasmophobia's smaller maps tend to be more popular as they allow for “faster yet intense investigations full of memorable moments” and Nell's Diner will fit into this, complete with a classic food counter, iconic red leather stools and booths, a kitchen, storage areas and “many ghosts to decipher.” Nell's Diner will be slightly larger than Tanglewood Drive, according to the developer.
As the Kinetic Games team has grown over the past five years and now creates all of its own art assets, don't forget that we can also expect this map to tell some kind of environmental story when it comes out.
“We've added some really classic horror locations to Phasmophobia so far – an abandoned orphanage, creepy farmhouses, and our more linear Point Hope lighthouse map. We always thought a diner would be perfect, so Nell's was born, and bringing it to life has been a really fun challenge,” said Dan “Dknighter” Knight, Director of Kinetic Games and lead developer of Phasmophobia.
“Along with this year's farmhouse rework, Nell's is an example of how we want all maps in Phasmophobia to look in the future. It's unique and has been carefully designed to tell our players more of a story – beyond the actual ghost they're hunting. We can't wait for everyone to get their hands on it next month.”
