Actor Peter Green has died at the age of 60.
His manager Gregg Edwards confirmed this. NBC News that Greene was found dead in his Lower East Side apartment in New York City on Friday, December 12th. The cause of death is currently unknown.
Daily news reported that Green was found in his apartment after neighbors reported hearing Christmas music playing inside for several days. Police noted his death did not appear suspicious and an autopsy has been ordered, according to the Daily News.
Greene was best known for playing villains, perhaps most famously the sadistic security guard Zed in Quentin Tarantino's 1994 film Pulp Fiction and the antagonist Dorian Tyrell in the 1994 Jim Carrey comedy The Mask.
But he has played villains in many other films, such as Bryan Singer's 1995 crime thriller The Usual Suspects, The Purge, Under Siege 2: Dark Territory, Training Day and The Bounty Hunter. Most recently, Green played Uncle Charlie in the John Wick spin-off TV show The Continental.
Edwards told NBC News: “Nobody played the bad guy better than Peter. But he also had, you know, a tender side that most people never saw and a heart as big as gold.”
Edwards told the Daily News that Green was set to star in a film with Mickey Rourke set to begin filming next year called “Mascots,” and that two other potential projects were in the works. He called Greene's death a “shock.”
