Patriots’ Christian Barmore hit with assault charges one day after Stefon Diggs

Another New England Patriots The star got into trouble with the law.

Just one day after it became known that Stefon Diggs was charged with disturbing behavior, Christian Barmore was charged with assault.

According to court records obtained by Fox News Digital, Barmore is accused of assaulting a man he was in a relationship with in Mansfield, Massachusetts back in August.

The alleged victim claimed that he and Barmore were arguing about the temperature of the room and food.

Barmore allegedly grabbed the victim's phone as she tried to leave. The alleged victim then “intended to open the door and call for help, but Christian grabbed her before she could and threw her to the floor.” Barmore then allegedly grabbed the victim by the shirt near his neck. Barmore also allegedly told the victim that his cousin would “get fucked.” [her] up.”

“[Victim] worried that she might hire someone to harm her and make her life difficult. [Victim] mentioned that she had previously heard Christian threaten people, saying that with the money he had, he could hire anyone …,” the police report obtained by Fox News Digital states. “About a week later, [Victim] sent me several text messages between her and Christian. “They were old messages, but she wanted me to see them because she said they showed what he was capable of, especially when it came to getting someone to hurt her.”

Barmore was charged with one count of assault and battery on a family/household member. The alleged victim also said she no longer wanted anything to do with Barmore.

Barmore is scheduled to be arraigned on Feb. 3, five days before Super Bowl LX. The Patriots could be in first place in the AFC this weekend.

“The New England Patriots are aware of reports of a pending indictment against Christian Barmore in February stemming from an alleged domestic incident that occurred in August. The Patriots were briefed during the incident and informed NFL in a timely manner,” the team said in a statement. “This matter remains part of ongoing litigation. We will respect this process, continue to monitor the situation closely as we have done over the past few months, and fully cooperate with the league. We will have no further comment at this time.”

Barmore's lawyer released the following statement:

“We are confident that the evidence will support the absence of criminal conduct. Based on the facts and the law, we expect this personal matter will be resolved in the near future and both parties will move forward together.”

News of Barmore's charges came just a day after it was reported that his teammate in Diggs earlier this month allegedly strangled his female chef over money. The woman told police Diggs “punched her in the face,” she tried to push him away, and he then “tried to choke her by putting his arm around her neck.”
