President Donald Trump appeared on ESPN's Pat McAfee's Daily Show on Tuesday, and of course, not everyone was pleased.
Days after McAfee himself said Trump would attend Washington Commanders-Detroit Lions During the game, the President called his show, which was broadcast live from Parris Island in honor of Veterans Day.
Trump talked about those who fought for our country, the government shutdown, college football and the NFL kickoff (which he hates) in a speech that lasted approximately 20 minutes.

The show was broadcast live on YouTube, and many of the comments were vitriol toward the president, as well as McAfee for his participation. But after Trump hung up, McAfee defended his decision.
“However, I would like to say that for the immediate people who are angry about this happening, it is the President of the United States. It's Veterans Day. He is the commander in chief. Obviously, if we get a chance to talk to him, we're going to do it. And he's funny.”

McAfee also said that he and the show reached out to former President Barack Obama after Trump had an interview opportunity, but Obama was unable to join due to scheduling conflicts.
The appearance on the show marks the latest development in a sports-filled presidency. Trump attended the Lions' victory on Sunday near the nation's capital. It was his first competitive event since competing in the Ryder Cup in September. That same month, he also attended the US Open men's final and New York Yankees a game that took place 24 years after the September 11 attacks.

The Commanders-Lions game was his first NFL game of the season. He also attended Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, which was won by the Philadelphia Eagles, and attended numerous UFC events. He also attended the FIFA Club World Cup final at MetLife Stadium.
