Woe to the people who like to kiss smaller and beautiful versions of themselves: Paralives The developers are postponing work on the home life simulator after playtests to fix some bugs and fill the game city with events. Paralives was supposed to release in early access in December of this year, but will now release on May 25, 2026.
IN Patreon statementThe game's lead developer and designer, Alex Masse, noted that creating a life simulator is a difficult task. “I started this project wanting it to be a fresh and indie take on the dollhouse life simulator genre that hasn't been pursued by many game developers,” he wrote. “I attribute this partly to the fact that a project like Paralives is a monumental task.”
“Life Sims is really three games in one: an advanced and flexible building mode, a highly customizable character creator, and a challenging life simulation mode,” he continued. “Over the past 6 years of development, from 2-3 developers in the early years to an average team size of just 10 people, we have had to alternate long periods of development between these three parts of the game.
“We're so proud of what we've created,” continued Masse, “but right now we just need a little more time to polish the simulation part of the game. This will ensure that Paralives will offer a great first experience at launch, keeping players coming back for every exciting free update and expansion we release later.”
The developers have updated their road map with improvements and fixes planned to go into effect next May. They will also host a continuous 45-minute livestream of the game on November 25, telling viewers about the shortcomings of the current version.
The traditional life simulation genre is still dominated by Simsbut in the long, heavy DLC gap between Sims 4 and whatever The Sims 5 turns out to be – EA Looks like you're not entirely sure yourself – several new contenders have appeared. The vampirically photogenic InZoi has left our Early Access reviewer Jay Castello. not impressed. Paradox's Life By You seemed promising, but ended up died a deathdestroying the Tectonic developers in the process, although Crusaders Kings 3 publishers have informed us that they ready to try again.
Despite the delays, I still have a good feeling about Paralives. It feels calm, which might make up for any complaints about the sparse simulation elements. Alice Bee (RPS in the world) drawn a bright picture of the project back in 2020.
