We're learning more about the suspect in the earlier Washington, D.C. attack who sent two dicks members of the West Virginia National Guard to a hospital, where they are listed in critical condition.
The attack, which investigators describe as a targeted ambush, reportedly occurred just a few blocks from the White House around 2:15 p.m. ET.
As we previously reported, D.C. Police Department Executive Assistant Chief Jeff Carroll told reporters During a press conference in Washington, it was stated that “at approximately 2:15 p.m., National Guard members were on high visibility patrol in the area of 17th Street and 1st Street NW when the suspect rounded the corner, raised his hand with a firearm, and fired at the National Guard members.”
As for the suspect, he is reportedly an Afghan national named Rahmanullah Lakanwal, who arrived here in September 2021 after the disastrous and deadly troop withdrawal from Afghanistan, and his paper trail points directly to Joe Biden.
Lakanwal allegedly shouted: “Allahu Akbar!” during an attack:

An LE source in DC tells me that the National Guard shooting suspect is an Afghan national who used a revolver.
The National Guard member, who was not armed with a firearm, stabbed the suspect with a pocket knife. Another Guardsman responded to the shooting and shot the suspect multiple times.

There are also conflicting reports about the type of visa he came here on and whether he overstayed it:

Fox News congressional correspondent Bill Melugin reported:
BREAKING: According to multiple federal law enforcement sources, the suspect in custody on suspicion of shooting two National Guard soldiers in the District of Columbia is an Afghan national who entered the United States on September 8, 2021, as part of the Biden administration's Operation Welcome Allies following the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan.
I was told that his permission to remain in the US expired in September of this year and he is now in the country illegally.
I have a name and date of birth, but am awaiting further confirmation.
