‘Palm Royale’ Clip Shows John Stamos’ Debut as Dr. Dusty Magic: EXCLUSIVE

There's a new sheriff – or should I say doctor/lawyer – in town, and his name is Dr. Dusty Magic.

John Stamos will do his thing “Palm Royal” debuted in episode 4 of season 2, entitled “Maxine Wrecks the House”. TODAY.com has your exclusive first look about his guest role and how he comes to Maxine's (Kristen Wiig) aid ahead of the Wednesday, December 3 episode.

The clip begins with Maxine being questioned by the police, who believe she is responsible for the disappearance of Norma (Carol Burnett).

“There is no body! No body, no death, no murder,” she tells Sergeant Tom Sanka (Rick Cosnett). “This is the Holy Trinity of the Law!”

Then, from behind a two-way mirror in the interrogation room, a switch flips and the charming Dr. Dusty Magic appears.

“Amen,” he tells Maxine as he enters the room wearing a navy suit, sunglasses and a cowboy hat. “Any man who is his own lawyer has a fool for a client, and you are too beautiful to be a fool.”

Dr. Dusty introduces himself as a “doctor of law and part-time gynecologist.” He then tells Tom that he held Maxine for three days without any good reason or evidence that she killed Norma.

Free, Maxine prepares to leave, but receives a stern warning from the sergeant. She's not intimidated. She puts on cat-eye sunglasses and tells him, “I'm going to own this town,” before leaving with Dr. Dusty.

Teasing his character's story this season, Stamos told TODAY.com, “He seems pretty strong, and you kind of ask, 'Who is this sneaky guy?'

“He's a lawyer and a gynecologist – and he's quite slick,” he adds. “He comes in at a time when (Maxine) is very vulnerable, very open and very emotional. And that's why I come in so quickly.”

Wiig also told TODAY.com that when Dusty comes into Maxine's life, she realizes something important.

“I think Maxine realized when she met Dusty that she had something to offer,” Wiig says. “And she still wants what she wants. She still gravitates towards it, like money and stuff like that, but I think she's starting to realize that she needs to be around people who care about her.”

New episodes of Palm Royale air every Wednesday on Apple TV.
