At the heart of the GE Profile Smart 4-Door French Door Refrigerator with Kitchen Assistant (27.9 cubic feet) is a barcode scanner built into the outside water and ice dispenser. When you're low on milk, eggs or any other item, simply scan the barcode and the refrigerator will automatically add it to your digital shopping list in the SmartHQ app by brand, flavor and size.

The system currently recognizes more than four million items, and shopping lists can be shared with family members, viewed during a store visit, or synced directly with Instacart for delivery. Users can add items without barcodes using voice commands or text input on the refrigerator display or through the app.

“We're creating an intuitive experience that feels natural and effortless, transforming the refrigerator into a true kitchen companion that grows with the family over time,” said Jason May, executive director, French Door Refrigeration Products at GE Appliances.

The camera allows you to check your diet

The refrigerator also features FridgeFocus, a camera system built into the LED panel that captures real-time images of the drawers. Family members can check what's in the refrigerator while shopping, which helps prevent repeat purchases.
