OpenAI has launched an app store on ChatGPT for mobile and web.
With this feature, regular users can view all of the chatbot's tools, and the SDK is open to developers to create interactions with the application.
On top of that, OpenAI now refers to “connective” apps like Google Drive or Dropbox as simply “apps.” For support pageChat connectors are now called “file search apps”, and deep exploration connectors are now “deep exploration apps”, and synchronized connectors are now “sync apps”.
Overall, the new section is divided into Features, Lifestyle and Performance categories. Once you find the app you want, you can simply click “Connect” to allow it access to ChatGPT. Once connected, you can @mention to open a specific app.
In its blog post, OpenAI notes that it is still an “early phase” for the ChatGPT app store. Going forward, the company says it is “exploring additional monetization options, including digital goods, over time, and will share more information as we learn how developers and users create and interact.”
