OnePlus reveals OxygenOS 16 with new useful AI features

OnePlus has unveiled OxygenOS 16, a new software update for the company's latest phones and tablets.

OnePlus says OxygenOS 16 has a new feature called Plus Mind that can recognize on-screen content and organize it into a new area called Mind Space, serving as a single hub for your captured data. Additionally, Google's Gemini can connect to Mind Space and get the information you need in a single request.

Plus Mind can be activated using the Plus Key (a hardware button on some phones like the OnePlus 13 that can also be customized for other functions) or by swiping up with three fingers. Plus Mind will then understand the context of the content, extract information such as dates, and add it to your calendar. It also supports long screenshot. It's like Nothing significant Space and Essential Key, except it has Gemini connectivity, which I see really complements this feature.

Additionally, OxygenOS 16 runs more smoothly thanks to Parallel Processing 2.0 technology and even enables some cross-ecosystem connectivity. On the UI front, there's a new design language that further enhances the Gaussian blur effect in OxygenOS with rounded corners and semi-transparent Quick Settings, Home Screen and App Drawer. In addition, native applications have been improved. OnePlus says OxygenOS 16 now has a new feature called Private Cloud Computing, ensuring your data stays private even in the cloud. This is very similar to Apple's private cloud computing feature.

The first phone with OxygenOS 16 will be OnePlus 15. However, OxygenOS 16 will also appear on the company's tablets. I'm looking forward to trying out OxygenOS 16 and will share my thoughts on the new OS after I review the upcoming OnePlus 15.
