Continuing the impressive OnePlus 15OnePlus is set to release a pair of gaming phones called the Turbo – and now we have an official teaser showing what they'll look like.
The video was published on a Chinese social network. Weibo from OnePlus (via 9to5Google), and it mentions both the Turbo 6 phone and the Turbo 6V phone. It's unclear what the differences are, but it's possible that one is more powerful than the other.
We're seeing at least four colors here – silver, black, pale green and pale blue – and given that one scene shows the phone being exposed to dust and water, it looks like these Turbo phones will have an IP68 rating.
A few more specs mentioned in the video include a 165Hz display for smooth gaming experience and a 9,000mAh battery. Such a large battery capacity previously there were rumorsand now we have confirmation from OnePlus that it is on its way.
Next month
In terms of the design of these phones, it would seem that OnePlus isn't straying too far from the stylish aesthetic of the OnePlus 15. It's a simple and easy-to-eye approach, and it works well.
These phones were first hinted at earlier this month, when OnePlus said the phones would be focused on gaming and bring with them “scarily fast” performance – although we haven't heard anything about processor or RAM specs yet.
We know that the Turbo 6 and Turbo 6V will be unveiled on Thursday, January 8th, and will go on sale in China. As usual with OnePlus, we'll have to wait a little longer to find out about international availability and pricing.
With the launch date still over a week away, we could very well see more official announcements in the coming days. Considering the quality best gaming phones already on the market, this is a pretty bold new venture for OnePlus.
