Stockholm (AP)-Veteran of the Swedish goalkeeper Robin Olsen announced his departure from international football after Coach John gave him to Tomson that he would no longer be the first choice.
The 35-year-old Olsen made a big mistake, as a result of which last month in Slovenia in Sweden there was 2-2 draws in Ljubljana in the qualifying championship of the World.
Olsen began a loss of 2-0 for Kosovo four days later, for his 79th performance in Sweden, but on Tuesday the Swedish Football Federation announced that he was immediately graduating from his international career.
In an interview with the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, published on Wednesday, Olsen, who is now playing for Malmö, after he left Aston Villa during the summer, said that his decision to leave, while Thomson continues to be a coach, because he is “a leader that I did not want to work.”
Olsen said that in an interview, Tomson told him last month that he was goalkeeper No. 1 in Sweden, but since then he informed the coach that it was no longer.
Tomson was supposed to announce on Wednesday his team about the upcoming qualifying matches of the World Cup against Switzerland and Kosovo, and Viktor Johansson will potentially become the first choice goalkeeper.
Olsen, who played for Sweden for 10 years, said in a statement published by the Federation that “it was a great honor to represent his country, and I always felt great support from our supporters.”
The manager of the national team Stefan Petratersson said that he was “sad”, that Olsen decided to resign and that he “meant a huge number” for Sweden.
