Oilers vs. Flames, Leafs vs. Canadiens highlight Day 2 of 2025-26 NHL season – Brandon Sun

Four Canadian teams debut tonight on the 2nd day of the NHL 2025-26 season.

The schedule for the day includes two classic completely Canadian rivalry, since “Edmonton Oilers welcome the Calgary Flame”, and Toronto MaPLIFS accept Montreal Canadiens.

Oil, who took second place in Florida in the Stanley Cup final, entered the season as the favorite of the championship and are on top after the captain of the superstar Connor MacDavid signed a contract for the team to keep him in Edmonton for another two years.

Their rivals of Alberta from Kalgary also enter the season with great hopes, hoping to build a positive season of 2024-25, in which they narrowly missed the playoffs.

Leafs start the season in search of elusive deep play -offs, but they will have to do this without the unlucky starrer Mitch Mardner.

Canadiens, meanwhile, surprised many, having passed the play -off last season and will strive to take the next step with a talented young nucleus.

Tomorrow, three Canada teams play their first games, when the Senators Ottava visit Tampa Bay, Winnipeg Jets welcome Dallas and Vancouver Canks entertain Kalgary.
