OANN Reportedly Fires Producer After He Shared Cartoon Comparing Jews To Scheming Cockroaches

According to TheWrap, One America News Network fired “The Matt Gaetz Show” producer Vish Burra on Monday after he published an artificial intelligence-generated cartoon that depicted Jews as devious cockroaches and called “vermin.”

Network executives considered the posts “highly offensive” and “anti-Semitic,” the newspaper reported. reported. The cartoon, published late last week and then deleted, helped spark internal backlash and public condemnation from Burra, who worked as a booker and writer for the program. OANN declined to comment to TheWrap. (RELATED: One America News Network Demands Retraction of MSNBC's Rachel Maddow Article, The Daily Beast)

“I will expose the parasites in the toxic coalition and their crimes against MAGA, America First and Kevin Roberts at the Heritage Foundation,” Burra wrote on the X next to the cartoon before deleting it, the outlet reported.

Gaetz tried to defuse the controversy on Saturday, writing on X: “My producer Vish Burra posted something stupid this week. He knew it was stupid and quickly deleted it. I, too, didn't think twice about posting stupid things on social media – some I deleted, some I didn't. And I had to pay some consequences along the way. Vish will do that too. I'm not the internet room monitor for any of my colleagues (thankfully).”

“I can say that at The Matt Gaetz Show, we do not believe in applying bigotry to any group of people, no matter where they live or how they worship,” he added.

OANN host Stella Escobedo, who is Jewish, publicly pressed Gaetz on X about Burra's numerous anti-Jewish posts in recent months, saying she was “very offended, disappointed and concerned that someone I work with” would share such content.

Burra's cartoon shows him entering a “chamber of intrigue” marked with a Star of David, where cockroaches scatter – critics have noted the imagery reflects classic Nazi propaganda. TheWrap reported that network leaders reviewed the messages before deciding to fire him Monday.

OANN did not immediately issue a public statement other than declining to comment to TheWrap. According to the report, Burra hung up when he reached the jack.
