Aside from the brief flirtation with different types of pants, this was a pretty simple game.

As tempting as it might be to combine CAPRI, CARGO and SWEAT with a third option – TROUSERS? “I managed to resist and quickly saw the rest of the groups.

Having a lifelong resistance to horoscopes and the zodiac, I was unable to detect the purple group, whereas all four tiles in the SHOW SIGNS OF PHYSICAL STRESS category are sensations I experience on a daily basis; but not during this game.

NYT Connections is one of several increasingly popular word games created by the New York Times. You'll find groups of four items that have something in common, and each group has a different level of difficulty: green is easy, yellow is a little harder, blue is often quite hard, and purple is usually very hard.

On the other hand, you technically don't need to solve the last question since you can answer it by process of elimination. Moreover, you can make up to four mistakes, which gives you some breathing room.

It's a bit more complex than something like Wordle, however, and the game has plenty of opportunities to confuse you with tricks. For example, beware of homophones and other word games that can disguise answers.
