As the holiday season approaches, one of the best years for streaming seems to be getting better with each passing month. 2025 brought new seasons Severance pay, The Last of Us, Bear, Andor And White Lotusand premiered new exciting shows such as Task, Pitt, Adolescence, Studio And Mobland. And that's just what I observed.
I still have it Black Rabbit, Squid game, Slow horses and a whole bunch more are waiting in the wings. So it would be great if best streaming services might, I don't know, cut back on the new additions a bit since my watchlist is already maxed out.
Unfortunately, that certainly won't happen in November, as an almost overwhelming number of heavy hitters will be available to watch from home, led by Stranger Things 5: Volume. 1, Everything is fair – starring Kim Kardashian as a lawyer?! – and the new Guillermo del Toro Frankenstein film starring Jacob Elordi.
This means I won't tune in IT: Welcome to Derry every Monday and I probably won't watch Stranger Things immediately. However, from November's jam-packed stream, I've identified five shows that immediately jump to the top of my “must-see” list.
For many

Without a doubt, my #1 most anticipated series this month is For many on Apple TV (formerly Apple TV+). Somehow I missed its existence until a few days ago, but it immediately jumped to the top of my watchlist as soon as I glanced at the trailer (and quickly stopped watching to avoid spoilers).
The premise is the perfect sci-fi plot: Better call SaulRhea Seehorn plays the role of the unhappiest person on earth after the entire population suffers from some disease that makes them happy all the time. For some reason, this didn't affect her, so it's up to her to save the world.
A good idea is one thing, but it is talent that makes this event unforgettable. It comes from Vince Gilligan – the famous creator Breaking Bad And Better call Saul (which I think might be the best show ever). That was enough to get me to watch the trailer, but it was Rhea Seehorn that got me excited.
If you don't recognize the name, it was Kim. Better call Saul is a character that made me laugh and cry while loving and hating her at the same time. This is truly one of my favorite roles and I can't wait to see what she does here.
I'm not the only one who notices this. My colleague Lucy predicted back in July that For many could steal Severance's crown as best show on Apple TV. Don't worry if you're confused by the title – in a recent chat, Vince admitted that the new series was incredibly difficult to name as “we had a list of over 100 titles.”. But somehow it seems to me that it fits perfectly.
For many premieres on Apple TV November 7.
I love Los Angeles

Bye For many is my most anticipated drama (and looks like it's going to get some laughs), on the completely different end of the spectrum is I love Los Angeles.
There's something special about series creator Rachel Sennott, who also stars. I didn't Love Bodies, Bodies, Bodies (a dark comedy where a party game goes horribly wrong) or an absurdist female-centric high school comedy that Bottombut I had a good time with both of them, almost in spite of myself. Shiva BabyIn the meantime, this is a fantastic film that I would recommend to anyone…if you want to feel like you're at the most awkward family event imaginable. It also stars Molly Gordon (Claire; Bear).
But whether I fell in love with her previous work or not, she really seems to connect with today's generation of women (both my little sister and my girlfriend love her).
Writing, directing and starring in I love Los AngelesSennott plays Maya, a PR exec who yearns to achieve the L.A. dream and struggles to hold on to a tight-knit group of friends as they all transition into real adulthood. She yearns for the “big” life, but her boyfriend loves the interest (situation? It's 2025, who knows…), played by Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games, Bridge to Terabithia) is completely satisfied with his full-time job as a high school teacher.
Talking about my actual experiences around this age, Hollywood ReporterSennot said, “You and your group of friends are all together, and then people start doing side quests.” We already know that Adult Life sucks, but she describes the atmosphere of the show like this: “Entourage for the Internet these are girls” – and this interested me, even if I am not part of the target audience.
If you were involved with Sennott's previous work or the HBO series Girlsher directorial debut should be high on your watch list, but it's also worth watching if you just want a few laughs.
First episode dropped on HBO Max November 2.
The beast in me

Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys. Do I need to say more?
Danes is one of the most famous actresses in the world – at least by name – but if you're unfamiliar, she stars opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in Romeo and Juliet. And, if you don't know Rhys, that's Phillip Jennings. Americans is a series about a couple who work as travel agents by day and Russian spies by night.
If you haven't watched it yet, please subscribe to Disney Plus right now.
The beast in me is one of Netflix's biggest releases this month. It tells the story of Aggie Wiggs (Danes), a famous writer who retreated from the spotlight after the death of her young son and can no longer write.
However, when Niall Jarvis (Reece) – a property tycoon who was once the prime suspect in his wife's disappearance – moves next door, Wiggs' desire to find a good story is renewed. Suddenly she finds herself in the middle of a deadly game of cat and mouse, trying to discover the truth about Jarvis' past while running from her own tragedy.
For me, the essence of this series is almost irrelevant. Honestly, I'd watch it purely for its two stars – but damn if that synopsis doesn't make it more appealing. This reminds me of a (seemingly) less dark version Apple TV Disclaimer starring Cate Blanchett that I devoured in just a few days
The beast in me debuts in full on Netflix November 13.
It's all her fault

You may not know every actor who is scheduled to appear in It's all her fault by name, but it's rare to see such a star-studded cast – and if you've watched any of the best series of the last few years, you'll almost certainly recognize some of their faces.
Australian Sarah Snook plays the lead role of Marissa Irwin, known as Shiv Roy in the film. Continuity. Jake Lacy, the much-hated husband of Alexandra Daddario's character in Season 1 White Lotusplays her partner Peter.
This star-studded series is based on the novel of the same name by Andrea Mara. It follows Marissa (Snook) who comes to pick up her young son Milo after his first date. But the door is opened by a stranger who has no idea where her son is, causing every parent's nightmare.
Dakota Fanning, last seen in her Emmy-nominated role in the Netflix series. Ripley, plays Jenny – Milo's mother must were on a date with Michael Pena (End of observation, Ant-Man) – chief detective. Abby Elliott (Sugar; Bear) and Sophia Lillis (THIS, IT: Chapter Two) is also a star.
However, the situation will become even more intriguing as the Irvines are asked whether they will actually benefit financially from the attention the crime has generated.
Sometimes I have trouble with these types of shows because when the subject matter is as heavy as crimes involving a child, it can be hard to get inspired for a new episode after a long day at work. However, there are few things better than a really good mystery that keeps you guessing right up until the very last episode, and the strong reputation here gives me hope.
There is no guarantee that It's all her fault reaches these heights, but the cast, trailer and plot show promise. He releases in his eight episodes on November 6 (at Peacock in the USA, Sky/Now in UK and Revelry in Australia) and sounds like the perfect drinking hour.
Death by lightning

What are the chances that the husband is Shiva Continuity (and one of my favorite characters) Tom Wambsgans will be starring in another series that will be released on Netflix on the same day as It's all her fault?
Michael Shannon (General Zod; Man of Steel) plays James Garfield, 20th President of the United States. Matthew Macfadyen – also known for his iconic fist clenching Pride and Prejudice Along with him, he plays Garfield's admirer and possible killer Charles Guiteau. Nick Offerman (Ron Swanson; Parks and Recreation) also plays Vice President Chester A. Arthur.
This series is based on a book Fate of the Republic Candice Millard, subtitled “A Tale of Madness, Medicine, and the Assassination of a President.”
I'm a history buff, so it doesn't take long to get me interested in a period drama, even if (and sometimes especially when) I don't know much about it beforehand. Shogun met all the requirements and the boy did it, confirming it. But the real story doesn't always make sense for the show.
Calling itself a dramatization of an “epic and stranger-than-fiction true story,” it seems like a sure bet that delivers on the promise of the premise. This is far from a boring political drama, I can't wait.
Death by lightning debuts on Netflix November 6.
Here it is. My watch list is set, my priorities are set, and I'm ready to be ruthless. Unfortunately, the first task is to decide whether I will watch Death by lightning or It's all her fault November 6. Perhaps I'll use our favorite service-changing strategy and save the HBO content for later.
2025 has been an incredible year for television, and November is shaping up to be the grand finale. On the same page as me, or do you have something else on your watchlist? Leave a comment below and let us know which series you're most looking forward to at the end of 2025.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll avoid falling behind and revise Americans until the first one falls.
