Nouvelle attraction pour motoneigistes en Chaudière-Appalaches

Snowmobile enthusiasts planning to visit the Chaudière-Appalaches region will be able to enjoy a great new addition to the Massif du Sud park, where a new tower has been built.

“I invite snowmobile enthusiasts to rediscover the Massif du Sud, which remains an incredible place thanks to the beauty of its landscapes with mummified trees,” explains Louis Chamberlant, Assistant General Manager for Electronic Affairs at Tourisme Chaudière-Appalaches. A new tower at the top of Mont Saint-Magloire was built to replace the outdated old one. The trees around have grown, so this year the tower was completely redone. It is much larger, taller and more massive. The small shelter that allowed the snowmobiles to stay warm during the journey is still there.” This is one of the closest towers to Quebec City.

A snowmobiler himself, our man wanted to give advice on a small place to discover.

“In the corner of Lac Trois-Saumont, or more precisely when you leave Trans-Québec 5 and follow the local trail towards Sainte-Louise, in clear weather you can discover a magnificent view of the river and Charlevoix. This is a little hidden gem in the region. It is not an official viewpoint, but the fact that it is on a hill allows us to discover an impressive landscape.

REGION FOR SNOWWALKERS

Access to various services such as housing, food, fuel and more is very easy. The region has several small villages that are easily accessible. Between the two villages you cross wooded areas and maple groves, making you think you are alone in the world even though everything is nearby.

One of the established principles for snowmobilers in this region is daisies. This means that you can park in a specific place, walk along different routes and always return to your starting point in the evening. These routes are easy to follow thanks to good quality signage provided by the clubs. You can use these loops without ever driving the same trail twice.

To make your visit to the region easier, several routes have been created.

If you feel like it, you can do the Le Grand Tour loop. With a length of more than 843 kilometers, you will discover all sectors of Chaudière-Appalaches. You will be able to discover the diversity and beauty of the region's winter landscapes.

OTHER COURSES

The 418-kilometre route Entre Fleuve et Montagnes will allow you to discover the region through the sectors of Bellechasse, Montmagny and the islands of Levi, Lotbiniere and Beauce. Characteristic landscapes and very abundant snow await you.

At 264 kilometers of the Bos-Etshemin road you will find yourself in the south of Bos, sometimes just minutes from the American border. You have an excellent chance of seeing white-tailed deer, an abundant species in this part of Beauce.

The region has many maple groves that have made it famous. Taking the route called Les Érablières, you'll take a 410-kilometer loop that will allow you to discover these maple groves and two regional parks.

Finally, on the 369-kilometer L'Aventurier route through Trans-Québec 5 and 55, in the east of the region, you'll discover exceptional Appalachian snow coverage.

CENTRAL REGION

After completing your Chaudière-Appalaches tour, you have the opportunity to visit two regions associated with it.

On the 460-kilometer Southern Quebec Trail, you can explore the Appalachian Chaudiere and the trails of Central Quebec. You will discover places you never knew existed.

You can also go further east towards Bas-Saint-Laurent. The region is renowned for its hospitality among snowmobile enthusiasts and offers many high-quality services. And then, if you want to go further, the Gaspésie awaits you with its paths between the river and the mountains.

Over the years, Chaudière-Appalache has developed exactly what snowmobile enthusiasts need. If you haven't already, take the time to visit. It's a revelation, especially this winter with the beautiful conditions that Mother Nature gives us.
