Norco forfeits six victories to drop to 0-9 in football

The Norco High football program lost six wins this season, falling to 0-9, after school and district investigations confirmed allegations of ineligible players. The school self-reported the violations to the South Division and informed team members and parents of the findings Wednesday.

Norco is the latest school involved in the ineligible player scandal that has rocked Southern Section schools this school year. From Bishop Montgomery At several Moore League schools, the South Division reviewed transfer documents and found discrepancies that resulted in more than 40 athletes being suspended for two years for violating CIF Rule 202, which prohibits the reporting of false information.

The allegations remain under investigation by the school district, and it is unknown what individual penalties may be imposed on the players, depending on whether there was a violation of Rule 510, which prohibits undue influence, or a violation of Rule 202, which involves providing false information.

Norco has replaced its principal and athletic directors this school year. The team was 6-3 and had one of its best games last week before losing to Corona Centennial 59-49.

Schools must sign transfer documents and state that there was no contact with the new student prior to enrollment.
