There's been a lot of talk about the Montreal Canadiens lately.
Of course, the Habs have survived two thaws in a row. Then there is long absence announced today for Kayden Gul and Alex Newhook.
One thing is clear: the Habs need more from each player, and that MUST (first and foremost) come from veterans.
Among the experienced players on Montreal's roster, Brendan Gallagher's name is often mentioned in relation to his performance: he needs to give more.
The intense 33-year-old forward has not scored a goal in 17 games this season. He has seven assists this season, but the veteran still needs to find the back of the net to help his team.
It's obvious he's slowed down and it's questionable whether he can really give more.
With the possible long-term loss of Alex Newhook, depth will be tested #GoHabsGo.
Among them, I'll focus on Brendan Gallagher, who has yet to score a goal in 17 games this season.
It's boring to say, but he's not going anywhere. It's even… pic.twitter.com/WMq44CCjuW

Taking nothing away from Gallagher, who has given more than he has to the organization since his arrival, he simply can't keep up anymore and according to Kevin Lefrancois, it's painful to watch him go.
The forward made his mark in the NHL by playing with energy and destroying opponents every time he took the ice (and scoring goals in the process). We won't see anything like this this year.
However, when they say that veterans need to give more, Gally already knows what he had to do in such circumstances. Practice was scheduled for 11:30 this morning, but he and Jake Evans had been on the ice since… 10:00.
It's only 10am and Jake Evans and Brendan Gallagher are already on the ice under the supervision of Adam Nicholas.

Gallagher mainly worked on his technique in goal, using a right-handed center.
In short, even if Gallagher is no longer the same player he was in his prime, we know he will never stop working, even if his body isn't up to the task.
After a while
– Although this seems to be a small thing. Let's hope he gets better soon.
