Nintendo Switch 2 Carrying Case and Screen Protector: Review
Want to take your favorite Nintendo Switch 2 on the go without fear of damage or destruction? Well, the official Nintendo Switch 2 Carrying Case and Screen Protector is perfect for you.
This kit includes a case that can hold your Switch 2 console (including Joy-Con 2 controllers), six game cartridges, and some smaller accessories like Joy-Con straps. Of course, you also get a screen protector just in case – more on that later.
I want to start by discussing this case, which I think is a very solid case indeed. It's nicely finished, with the Switch 2 logo front and center, and has red and blue handles on two zippers that feel sleek and easy to zip up. The case also feels nicely durable, and after dropping it a couple of times and getting a good scratch, I didn't notice even the slightest wear, which is exactly the quality I'd expect from a case. best accessories for Nintendo Switch 2.
There are three compartments inside: one on each side of the case for storing the console, as well as another that can store small accessories, and there is space on top for six cartridges. Could there be some more slots for game cards? Yes, but personally, six physical slots will be enough for me if I'm going on a short trip – room for some party games like World of Mario Kart And Jamboree “Super Mario” + Jamboree TVas well as several single-player adventures.
Storage space in the third compartment is limited—you won't be able to fit a docking station here. I could fit a pair of headphones or a Joy-Con strap with no problem, but if you're hoping to store an item like USB camera or Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controlleryou might want to check out the larger option. One advantage is that the case remains thin and fits snugly against the console, meaning you can easily slip it into your bag without worrying about it being too bulky.
Overall I really liked this case and could use it instead of my utility case. Universal Carrying Case for Nintendo Switch 2 unless I plan to play in the dock. But one thing I learned is that it picks up fingerprints very easily. Even when taking the photos you see in this tutorial, I had to wipe them down a few times – it's a small thing, but worth noting.
As I mentioned earlier, this kit also includes a screen protector, but I was much less positive about it. This is where you'll have to temper your expectations – you won't be getting a tempered glass screen protector after all! Instead, it's a piece of anti-scratch film, which is hardly the most protective option on the market.
You don't have a frame to install the screen protector – you'll have to install it manually. But even though I lined it up pretty well, I still ran into some problems, such as excessive air bubbles that were difficult to squeeze out. I put it through the same testing process as Genki Aegis ShieldFor example. Even though my console came out unscathed, I still recommend purchasing the tempered glass option for better protection and peace of mind.
Ultimately, I'll look at screen protectors more as an extra item. The main focus for me is the body, which I think is a good value, especially for UK and Australian buyers who spend a maximum of £20.99/AU$39.95 to get this model – I've already seen it on sale for less. In the US, availability seems inconsistent, and the proportionately higher price of $39.99 is a bit of a shame.
However, you get a slim, well-finished, and durable case that's perfect for taking on the go. And at the end of the day, I think the official Nintendo version is still worth a look.

How I Tested the Nintendo Switch 2 Carrying Case and Screen Protector
- Tested within a few days
- I took it with me on public transport and to the office
- Tested by Nintendo Switch 2 owner and regular gamer
I've been testing out the Nintendo Switch 2 carrying case and screen protector for a few days. I packed it along with the Nintendo Switch 2 console, joy scam 2 controllers and charging cable and it held up well as expected.
To evaluate the durability of the case, I tried dropping it from a decent distance and also scratched the outer surface. I then checked for wear after the testing period came to an end. Where appropriate, I compared this case to competitors in areas such as durability and storage space.
I'm a Switch 2 owner, an avid gamer, and a seasoned tech reviewer with plenty of experience with Switch 2 accessories. Since I bought the Switch 2 at launch, I've tried out a number of products, including cases like Nacon XL Protective Case for Nintendo Switch 2protective films such as DBrand Prism 2.0and cameras such as Hori Piranha Plant Camera for Nintendo Switch 2.
